Power of Meditation.

The "power" of meditation is no longer just a philosophical concept;

it is a measurable biological and psychological reality. Scientific research using fMRI and EEG scans shows that regular meditation can physically rewire the brain—a process known as neuroplasticity.

Here is a breakdown of how meditation transforms your mind, body, and daily performance.

1. Neurological Power:

 Rewiring the Brain
Meditation changes the physical structure of your brain, specifically in areas related to emotion and memory:

 * The Amygdala (Stress Center): Research shows that meditation can shrink the amygdala, the part of the brain responsible for the "fight or flight" response. This leads to a naturally calmer baseline.

 * The Prefrontal Cortex (Executive Center): It thickens the prefrontal cortex, which governs decision-making, focus, and self-regulation.

 * The Hippocampus (Learning Center): Regular practice increases gray matter density in the hippocampus, improving your ability to learn and retain information.

2. Physiological Power: Healing the Body
By shifting the body from the Sympathetic Nervous System (stress) to the Parasympathetic Nervous System (rest and digest), meditation triggers several physical benefits:

 * Cortisol Reduction:

 It significantly lowers levels of cortisol, the "stress hormone" that causes inflammation and weight gain.

 * Heart Health:

 Studies from the American Heart Association suggest meditation can lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of heart disease.

 * Immune Support:

It has been linked to increased electrical activity in the left side of the brain, which acts as a command center for the immune system.

3. Psychological Power:

Mental Mastery
The true power of meditation lies in creating a "space" between a stimulus and your response.

 * Emotional Regulation:

Instead of reacting impulsively to anger or fear, you learn to observe the emotion without being consumed by it.

 * Anxiety Management:

 Mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) is now a clinically recognized tool for treating generalized anxiety and depression.

 * Sharpened Focus: Even short sessions (5–10 minutes) can improve "working memory" and reduce mind-wandering by up to 22%.

Clash between two Dalit groups in Kaili village: Dispute over harassing a mentally challenged youth, several injured

Kharkhoda. A violent clash broke out between two Dalit communities in Kaili village of the Kharkhoda police station area on Friday night at around 8 pm. The dispute started with a minor argument over harassing a mentally challenged young man, but quickly escalated into a major conflict.

According to the information, Rakesh, a young man from the Jatav community, was going somewhere for some work. At that time, some youths from the Valmiki community started arguing with him and harassed him. Rakesh’s family and community members came to his defense, and a fight broke out between both sides with sticks and clubs. The fight quickly escalated, creating a tense situation.

Several people from both sides were involved in this fight. According to local sources, two people were seriously injured in the clash and were immediately admitted to the medical center in Kharkhoda. The injured are undergoing treatment, and their condition is reported to be stable.

According to local residents, the increasing tension in the village caused people in the surrounding areas to remain confined to their homes out of fear. Villagers demanded that the police increase security and restore peace quickly.

The Kharkhoda police station in-charge confirmed the incident and said that there was no firing in the area. Only a physical altercation took place, and the police have registered a complaint from the concerned parties and initiated legal action based on the medical reports. The station in-charge appealed to both sides to maintain peace.

Local administration and police officials are now continuously monitoring the village. The police aim to ensure that no further violent activity takes place and that mutual peace is restored between the two communities.

The villagers also appreciated the promptness of the police and said that agreements and awareness at the community level are also necessary to prevent such incidents in the future. The administration has warned that strict action will be taken against anyone who engages in violence or disturbs public peace.

Thus, this incident in Kaili village of Kharkhoda highlights the tension between communities in the region and makes the need for maintaining security and peace even more crucial.

UP officer who raped 10yo Dalit girl and agoat tied at her house found dead in jail

Meerut: A 59-year-old assistant development officer (ADO) in the agriculture department in Bulandshahr's Shikarpur block, who was accused of raping a 10-year-old girl and then a goat tied at her house in 2024, died of "cardiac arrest" in jail on Thursday, which happened to be his birthday. The case was scheduled for court hearing on Jan 6.

“The accused was in prison for almost a year. He was a heart patient and was undergoing treatment in Delhi and Meerut while in judicial custody. He complained of chest discomfort yesterday in prison and died on the way to hospital. His autopsy report has confirmed death due to cardiac arrest, and the body has been handed over to his family,” jailor, Ashok Kumar, said on Friday.

The crime dates back to Aug 13, last year, when the ADO reached a Dalit man’s house for an inspection. Finding his young daughter alone at home, he forcibly dragged her to a room and sexually assaulted her. Before leaving, he also had unnatural sex with a goat tied inside her home and a neighbour caught the barbaric act in his phone camera.

The accused was later arrested and an FIR under BNS section 65 (2) (rape on a woman under 12 years), section 3 (2)(5) of SC/ST Act, section 5M/6 of Pocso Act and section 11 of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act were registered against him. He remained in jail after the court rejected his bail plea.

ADGC Varun Kaushik said, “His crime was heinous. Fourteen witnesses have testified in court until now. The girl had identified the accused in court. A medical examination of the goat was also conducted, which confirmed the assault. We presented strong evidence in court to prove him guilty.”

For the past seven years, the Special Court in Pudukkottai designated to try cases under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act has been functioning without a permanent judge, severely affecting the trial of caste-based violence cases, advocates and activists have said.

The Special Court was established in early 2018 and briefly had a permanent judge before the post fell vacant following a transfer. Since then, the court has been functioning under in-charge judges, even as court staff, a public prosecutor, and other support personnel remain in place.

 Abhishek flags attack on Bengal migrants in BJP-ruled states Abhishek flags attack on Bengal migrants in BJP-ruled states BY Team MP
27 Dec 2025 12:02 AM

 Kolkata:

Amid repeated incidents of attacks on Bengali-speaking migrant labourers in BJP-ruled states, Trinamool Congress (TMC) national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee shared a video clip of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee speaking on “Raj Dharma” and alleged that India’s social climate is being deliberately poisoned.

 In a post on X, Banerjee claimed that right-wing forces were openly attacking Dalits, Scheduled Tribes and minorities. “India’s climate is being deliberately poisoned.

 Right-wing forces, emboldened by power, are openly attacking Dalits, STs and minorities — through fear, lynching, threats and hate, all under the garb of religion,” he wrote. Also Read - Publish list of ‘1.36 cr’ discrepant voters, Abhishek tells ECI He further alleged that when those in power reward perpetrators of violence, “impunity becomes policy”. “This is not governance; this is moral collapse. These attacks are unconstitutional, illegal and tear apart the very foundation of India — our unity in diversity. Silence today is complicity. History will not forgive this,” Banerjee added. The Trinamool Congress also criticised what it described as the BJP’s “desperate attempt” to equate West Bengal with Bangladesh, calling it reckless and misleading. Banerjee reiterated his protest against alleged attacks on minorities, Dalits and Scheduled Tribes. Also Read - SPECIAL INTENSIVE REVISION | CEO asks DEOs to skip hearings for ‘unmapped’ voters linked to 2002 rolls The comments come in the wake of a recent incident in Odisha, where a migrant labourer from West Bengal died and two others were injured. Three migrant workers — Akir Sk, Palash Sk and Juyel Rana — from Suti Block I in Murshidabad district had gone to Sambalpur on December 20. They were allegedly attacked at their workplace after rumours were spread that they were Bangladeshis. Juyel Rana (30) later succumbed to his injuries. Alleging that Bengali-speaking migrant workers were being targeted in some states on the pretext that they were Bangladeshi nationals, Trinamool Congress asked how many more innocent lives the BJP wanted. Meanwhile, BJP leader Arjun Singh, speaking at a party meeting in Naihati last Wednesday evening, urged party supporters to beat up those raising the “Joy Bangla” slogan, claiming that the slogan was shouted in Bangladesh where a Hindu was killed. In another post on X, Trinamool Congress said: “Bengal BJP’s desperate, venomous smear equating Bengal with Bangladesh is as reckless as it is misleading. Where was your ‘nationalist’ outrage when your own @SuvenduWB openly praised the Yunus government in Bangladesh? It is your party that branded Bengali a ‘Bangladeshi language’.”
