  • Key Party Projections: The AINRC is expected to be the single largest party (9-11 seats), with the BJP securing 5-7 seats.
2. Key Political Trends & Context
  • Contestants: The election is a tough battle between the ruling NDA (AINRC, BJP, AIADMK) and the Opposition INDIA bloc (Congress, DMK).
  • Key Issues: Campaigning centered on statehood, development, and tackling the influence of money in politics.
  • Silent Period: The Election Commission imposed a 48-hour ban on opinion polls and exit polls starting April 7, 2026, ahead of the voting on April 9.
