Chairman Yelamanchili Praveen lauds the State government’s ‘‘community-friendly’‘ initiatives, benefitting the downtrodden sections of the society

Mr. Praveen appreciated the YSRCP-led State government for the several community-friendly initiatives including adoption of a resolution in the State Assembly to press for Scheduled Caste status for Dalits who had converted to other religions and provision of honorarium to pastors in the State for the first time in the country.
He welcomed the Supreme Court’s steadfast decision to adjudicate the case relating to quota for the Dalit Christians, without waiting for a report by the K.G. Balakrishnan panel constituted by the Centre. Highlighting that the long-standing issue had been on hold for over two decades, he lauded the SC decision.

Congress Started Dalit Gaurav Samvad Campaign: Congress started Dalit Gaurav Samvad Campaign in UP. Congress leaders are filling letters in every assembly to join the campaign. In this sequence, demand letters of more than one lakh Dalits were filled. Congress workers visited Dalit settlements in every assembly and met Dalit families. After connecting the Muslims, now efforts are being made to connect the Dalits.
It will expand to every village
Encouraged by the results of Dalit Gaurav Samvad Yatra, Uttar Pradesh Congress is now going to expand it to every village of the state. In this journey of about one and a half months, Congress visited Dalit settlements in almost every assembly and met Dalit families. First the campaign to integrate the Muslims and now the Congress’s attempt to infiltrate the Dalits through the Dalit Gaurav Samvad Yatra is being seen in a way as a rebuke of the Samajwadi Party’s previous Dalit minority i.e. Pada.
Huge enthusiasm in Congress
There is huge enthusiasm in Congress due to the success of Dalit Gaurav Samvad Yatra. Within one and a half month, Congress got demand letters filled from more than one lakh Dalits regarding their problems. But now Congress will not limit itself to this assembly and will take it to every village. That means now its scope is being expanded. This decision was taken after reviewing this program. It started on 9th October, the death day of Kashiram. This yatra was to end on Constitution Day on 26th November. But 250 Dalits were contacted from each assembly. And the trend that came after getting the demand letter filled by more than 500 Dalits. Due to that, now this campaign is being expanded to rural areas.

MP: Neighbour Rapes Dalit Woman In Gwalior, Threatens To Kill Her Son
Around midnight, the accused identified as Puran Kirar, who is a neighbor residing nearby, entered into her room through the roof.
Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A man barged in at a Dalit woman’s house, and raped her in Gwalior’s Barua village on Tuesday. He threatened to kill her son if she refused his orders.
After hearing the woman’s cries, her brother-in-law, who resides in the upper portion of the house, rushed to her room and confronted Puran, but he pushed him aside. Exploiting the situation, the accused managed to flee through the roof. The victim promptly reported the incident to the Women’s Police Station later that night. The police filed a case against the accused for breaking and entering, committing rape, issuing death threats, and perpetrating atrocities against a Dalit.
According to police reports, the victim, disclosed that her husband had gone missing four years ago. Since then, she has been residing separately with her child in a portion of her in-laws’ house.
Despite extensive police efforts and raids conducted at various locations, the accused remains at large. Authorities express confidence in making a swift arrest in the near future to ensure justice for the victim.

Dalits, including women, attacked by dominant caste group in Madhya Pradesh over tree cutting
Dalit villagers in Morena, Madhya Pradesh, were brutally assaulted for protesting against tree cutting
In Madhya Pradesh’s Morena, a number of Dalit people were assaulted by the Parmar community. This attack reportedly started over the issue of cutting trees. Members of the Dalit community were there onwards attacked by axes and sticks.
Three people, named Gajraj Mahor, Mayadevi Mahor, Ramavati Mahor, along with their father, Ramabai Mahor, and Keshavati Mahor, were among those seriously injured in the brutal assault. All the injured people have been transported to the district hospital for medical treatment. Some members from the Parmar community were also injured.
The Civil Lines police station has registered a case against both parties involved in the incident. The in-charge of the Civil Lines police station also has stated that members of the Mahor community approached the station, complaining about the assault after which a case was filed. At the same time, members of the Parmar community also approached the police demanding that a case be filed against the villagers, too.
Post-poll violence has abounded in Madhya Pradesh, where about three people have been killed thus far. Dalit have also found themselves vulnerable. According to a report by a journalist, one Dalit home was burned in Bhind, Madhya Pradesh.

Congress worker accuses MLA Seethakka’s son of fraud in Dalit Bandhu
Dayakar claimed that he was promised selection as a beneficiary under the Dalit Bandhu scheme in exchange for Rs.3 lakh, allegedly paid to Seethakka’s son, Surya, through a middleman.
Mulugu: Causing much embarrassment to the local MLA ahead of the Assembly polls, one Ankeswarapu Dayakar, a Congress party member and ward member in Jakaram village, has levelled serious allegations against the son of Congress MLA Danasari Anasuya, popularly known as Seethakka.
Dayakar also said the lack of selection in the scheme not only impacted him financially but also led to family disputes, straining his personal life with his wife. He claimed that he handed over the amount about eight months ago, expecting to be included among the beneficiaries who receive Rs.10 lakh in aid through the scheme.
