It is believed that the party is not as confident about this issue in the assembly elections as it was in the Lok Sabha elections.
Seven headaches of Congress in Maharashtra
1- Lack of leadership
First of all, the lack of Maratha leadership in Maharashtra is clearly visible in Congress. After the death of Vilas Rao Deshmukh, Ashok Rao also left Congress and joined BJP. Now Congress does not have any Maratha leader who can be said to be the Maratha leader of the entire state. Prithviraj Chavan and Bal Saheb Thorat are Maratha leaders, but they are limited to their area.
2- Huge lack of Dalit leadership
Similarly, Congress also has a huge lack of Dalit leadership. After the retirement of former Maharashtra Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, Congress does not have Dalit leadership. Nitin Raut was made a minister in the Maha Vikas Aghadi government to promote Dalit leadership, but he does not have influence in the whole of Maharashtra.
3- Shinde government’s Ladli Behna Yojana
The third problem of Congress is the Shinde government’s Ladli Behna Yojana, in which women of the state are being given Rs 1500 per month. Although Maha Vikas Aghadi has promised that if their government is formed, they will give Rs 3000, but the Mahayuti government has started sending money. In such a situation, the party is afraid that the Mahayuti may take advantage of the scheme which is already giving benefits.
4- Rahul’s Constitution issue
The fourth big problem before Congress in Maharashtra is also regarding Rahul Gandhi’s constitution issue. During the Lok Sabha elections, the issue of constitution was very popular among Dalits, which also benefited the opposition India Alliance, but Congress is afraid whether this issue will work in the assembly elections like in the Lok Sabha or not? Because, changing the constitution has become an issue in Parliament, but will it work in the Assembly?
5- Less campaigning compared to the opponents
In the Maharashtra elections, the leaders of the Mahayuti are engaged in the elections with full force, but if we talk about the Congress in the Mahavikas Aghadi, very little campaigning has been done so far. Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi have not been able to hold as many rallies as they should have. On the other hand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and UP CM Yogi Adityanath are holding rallies on behalf of the BJP.

In a tragic turn of events, a Dalit man’s death in Greater Noida’s Bhikhampur village has ignited calls for justice. The incident unfolded on Friday when a dispute over the passage of a tractor escalated into a violent clash between two groups, resulting in stone-pelting and multiple injuries.
According to the police, three individuals—Nitin, Nikhil, and Ashu Tyagi—have been arrested following a police encounter where one suspect was shot and wounded. Despite quickly rendering aid, one injured man was declared dead at the hospital, as confirmed by Additional Commissioner of Police Shivhari Meena.
Condemnation from Bahujan Samaj Party leader Mayawati poured in, calling for severe actions against those responsible. As per police reports, an FIR has been lodged under various charges, including those under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.

Dalit man’s last rites disrupted; case filed against village head, 8 others
Agra: Tension flared in Bhainsi village under Khatauli police station in Muzaffarnagar recently after the last rites of a Dalit man were disrupted by the village head and his associates, who allegedly made casteist remarks and threatened the family against holding cremation at the village crematorium platform. Police and administrative officials rushed to the scene and provided security, allowing the cremation to take place.
Following a complaint by a woman from the Dalit community, a case was against nine individuals, including the village head, under BNS sections 126-1 (wrongful restraint) and 352 (assault or criminal force), along with relevant provisions of the SC/ST Act. The matter is being investigated by the deputy superintendent of police. “A detailed investigation is underway,” SHO Brijesh Sharma said.
The complainant, Sonia Kumari, said in her statement: “On Nov 9, during the funeral procession of Babu Valmiki, the village head, Amit Ahlawat, along with his associates, stopped us, wielding sticks. They declared, ‘Your last rites will not be performed here; only we have the right to use this land, as your rites will defile it.'”
Despite attempts by officials, including tehsildar Shraddha Gupta and patwari Amit Kumar, to resolve the situation, Ahlawat allegedly continued using caste-based slurs and threatened against using the cremation ground in the future.

In a remarkable display of social change and unity, a Dalit woman’s marriage was celebrated in the courtyard of a Rajput family in Nagana village, near Balotra in Rajasthan’s Barmer district. The marriage of Kusumlata, a young woman from the Valmiki community, was celebrated in a manner that few could have imagined just a generation ago. Kusumlata’s wedding to Sanjay Kumar, a groom from Nagaur, took place just two days ago.
The marriage took place at the residence of Sajjan Singh Rawal, a prominent Rajput head of the village. In a powerful act of solidarity, Singh not only offered his family home as the venue for the wedding but also covered all the expenses for the ceremony.
The marriage procession, which arrived from Nagaur, was given a warm and grand welcome, defying the traditional divisions of caste that have long shaped Rajasthan’s rural communities. The entire village came together to support and celebrate this historic occasion, which was attended by members from diverse communities.
In a region where, in many areas, Dalit grooms still require police protection to ride a mare during their weddings, this wedding marks a significant shift in the social fabric of Rajasthan. For Kusumlata’s family, this was nothing short of a dream come true. The opportunity to marry their daughter in the home of a Rajput family, long seen as a symbol of Rajasthan’s upper-caste aristocracy, was an act of profound dignity and respect.
The traditional wedding rituals unfolded with great fanfare. The groom was ceremonially seated on a mare, a gesture historically reserved for upper-caste grooms. He was also invited to perform the Toran Vandan (a ritual to ward off evil spirits), which further symbolised the breaking of barriers between castes. The groom’s procession was accompanied by drums, the showering of flowers, and a lively celebration – all acts that have traditionally been denied to Dalit communities in Rajasthan.
Sajjan Singh, speaking about the event, expressed his deep sense of pride in having hosted the wedding. “It is a great privilege that the daughter of the Valmiki community was married in my house. It is time for untouchability to end, and for mutual brotherhood and social harmony to thrive across the country,” he said. Singh, who is a member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), further emphasised the importance of fostering unity and breaking down the caste-based barriers that have long divided communities.
A similar, though smaller-scale, event had taken place recently in Ajmer, where members of the Rajput community organised a wedding procession for a Dalit bride, who was also made to sit on a mare – a8 symbolic gesture of honour and respect.

The Supreme Court has set aside a Rajasthan High Court judgment that had upheld the compromise reached between a schoolteacher accused of sexually assaulting a minor Dalit girl on the campus and the father of the victim, as the top court said no such agreement is valid for heinous offences which have a serious impact on society.
The apex court also lamented that the Rajasthan government chose not to challenge the high court judgment, which had quashed the FIR against the accused for offences relating to sexual harassment and cases registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act and the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
The girl’s father opposed the appeal filed in the apex court against the high court judgment by some local villagers on the ground that they had no locus standi as they were not the aggrieved party.
Justice C.T. Ravi Kumar said: “This court held that such offences are not private in nature and have a serious impact on society…. It is the bounden duty of the court concerned to consider whether the compromise is just and fair, besides being free from undue pressure. We will proceed to consider the matter further. The impugned order would reveal that the allegations contained in the subject FIR were not at all even adverted to, before quashing the same.”

Bhopal- In a shocking incident of caste-based discrimination and abuse, a Dalit man from Chitai Purwa village in Mauganj district of Madhya Pradesh faced severe harassment simply for sitting on a chair. The incident came to light when a video of the alleged abuse went viral on social media, showcasing the ordeal of Ashok Saket, a member of the Scheduled Caste community.
Ashok reported that after lodging a complaint with the police, unidentified individuals attacked his house, breaking the door and issuing threats, saying, “You filed a police complaint; now be ready to face the consequences.”
The incident occurred in Chitai Purwa, a village under the jurisdiction of the Laur police station in Mauganj district. On the morning of November 10, Ashok Saket was sitting on a chair outside his house when a local resident, Mayank Dwivedi, passed by. Mayank reportedly became enraged at the sight of Ashok seated and began hurling casteist slurs at him.
Mayank allegedly said, “You are from a lower caste; you have no right to sit on a chair in front of us.” In response, Ashok tried to reason with him, stating that he was sitting outside his own house and that this should not concern anyone. However, Mayank’s anger escalated, and he continued to abuse Ashok with caste-based insults.
Police Complaint and Allegations Against Authorities
Ashok filed a police complaint regarding the incident, and the video of the altercation quickly went viral, drawing widespread attention. However, Ashok also alleged mistreatment by police officers.
Speaking to The Mooknayak, Ashok stated, “When I went to the Laur police station to file a complaint, the police did not take my grievances seriously. Instead, they used casteist slurs against me, which was deeply hurtful. Although the FIR was eventually registered, the behavior of the police was disheartening.”
Ashok recounted that after registering the FIR, unidentified individuals attacked his house. On the evening of November 10, shortly after he returned from the police station, some individuals broke into his house, damaged the door, and issued threats. They warned him, saying, “You filed a complaint with the police; now face the consequences.”
Ashok’s family has appealed to the police for immediate action against the attackers.
Reactions from Dalit Leaders
Responding to the incident, Pradeep Ahirwar, President of the Scheduled Caste (SC) wing of Congress in Madhya Pradesh, condemned the act. He remarked, “Incidents of caste-based discrimination and violence are still rampant in our society. This unfortunate incident highlights the deep-rooted casteism that persists. The government must take strict action against the culprits to ensure such incidents are not repeated.”
The Constitution of India provides strong safeguards against caste-based discrimination. Article 17 abolishes untouchability and prohibits caste-based discrimination. Additionally, the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, criminalizes casteist abuse, physical assault, and damage to property. The Act prescribes strict penalties for offenders, categorizing such acts as serious criminal offenses.
Dalit organizations and social activists have also condemned the incident, calling for justice for the victim and action against the perpetrators. They emphasized the need for raising awareness and promoting sensitivity to eradicate caste-based discrimination. They noted that while legal measures are essential, societal change and greater awareness are crucial to ending such injustices.
The Mauganj police confirmed that an FIR has been registered, and investigations are underway. Speaking to The Mooknayak, Superintendent of Police Rasna Thakur stated, “Strict action will be taken against the accused. The complaint about police misconduct has not been officially received, but if such allegations are found true, appropriate action will be taken against those involved.”

போபால்- மாநில சட்டமன்ற இடைத்தேர்தலுக்கான வாக்குப்பதிவு புதன்கிழமை இரவு முடிவடைந்ததைத் தொடர்ந்து, விஜயபூரில் உள்ள கோஹ்தாவில் ஒரு தலித் கிராமம் தீ வைத்து எரிக்கப்பட்டது. இந்த சம்பவம் குற்றவாளிகள் மீது போலீசார் நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கவில்லை என்ற குற்றச்சாட்டு எழுந்துள்ளது.
தகவல்களின்படி, கிராமத்தில் குழப்பத்தை தூண்டியவர்கள் கல்வீச்சு மற்றும் நாசவேலைகளில் ஈடுபட்டுள்ளனர். அச்சமடைந்த கிராம மக்கள் உள்ளூர் காவல் நிலையத்தில் தஞ்சம் அடைந்தனர். விஜய்பூர் காவல் நிலையப் பொறுப்பாளர் பப்பு சிங் யாதவ், இரு குழுக்களிடையே ஏற்பட்ட மோதலே வன்முறைக்குக் காரணம் என்று கூறி, நிலைமையைக் கட்டுப்படுத்த போலீஸ் குழுக்கள் தலையிட்டதை உறுதிப்படுத்தினார்.

Bhopal- A Dalit village was set on fire in Gohta, Vijaypur, following the conclusion of voting for the state Assembly by-election on Wednesday night. The incident has sparked allegations of inaction by police against the perpetrators.
According to reports, miscreants instigated a disturbance in the village, resorting to stone-pelting and vandalism. Fear-stricken villagers sought refuge at the local police station. Vijaypur police station in-charge Pappu Singh Yadav confirmed that police teams intervened to control the situation, attributing the violence to a conflict between two groups.
This incident follows a series of violent events surrounding the Vijaypur by-election. On Wednesday, polling was marred by clashes between groups in Veerpur area, resulting in injuries to two to three individuals. Allegations of booth capturing were also made.
The by-election, necessitated by the resignation of former Congress MLA Ramniwas Rawat, who later joined the ruling BJP and was elevated as state forest minister in Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s Cabinet, saw a 75% voter turnout according to the Election Commissioner. The contest between Rawat, now the BJP candidate, and Congress nominee Mukesh Malhotra was fraught with tension. Both candidates were stationed at guest houses under security detail due to the volatile atmosphere.
Clashes between BJP and Congress supporters erupted at various points throughout the election process, culminating in protests by top leaders from both parties. Jitu Patwari, the state president of Congress, and V.D. are BJP’s state president. Sharma staged a dharna near the Election Commission of India (ECI)’s office in Bhopal, trading accusations of fake voting and booth capturing.

भोपाल- राज्य विधानसभा उपचुनाव के लिए बुधवार रात मतदान खत्म होने के बाद विजयपुर के गोहता में एक दलित गांव में आग लगा दी गई। इस घटना से अपराधियों के खिलाफ पुलिस पर निष्क्रियता के आरोप लगने लगे हैं।
रिपोर्ट्स के मुताबिक, उपद्रवियों ने पथराव और तोड़फोड़ करते हुए गांव में अशांति फैला दी। भयभीत ग्रामीणों ने स्थानीय पुलिस स्टेशन में शरण ली। विजयपुर थाना प्रभारी पप्पू सिंह यादव ने पुष्टि की कि पुलिस टीमों ने स्थिति को नियंत्रित करने के लिए हस्तक्षेप किया, हिंसा के लिए दो समूहों के बीच संघर्ष को जिम्मेदार ठहराया।

மாவட்டச் செயலாளர் பதவிகளில் 10% தலித் அல்லாதவர்களுக்கும் பெண்களுக்கும் இடஒதுக்கீடு செய்வதோடு, அனைத்து தலைமைப் பதவிகளில் 25% 35 வயதுக்குட்பட்ட தனிநபர்களுக்கு ஒதுக்கப்படுவதை உறுதி செய்வதோடு கட்சி உறுதியளித்துள்ளது.
சென்னை - விடுதலை சிறுத்தைகள் கட்சி (VCK), தமிழ்நாட்டில் தலித்-ஐ மையமாகக் கொண்ட அரசியல் கட்சி, மாநிலம் முழுவதும் அதன் இருப்பை வலுப்படுத்த ஒரு பெரிய நிறுவன மறுசீரமைப்புக்கான திட்டங்களை வெளியிட்டுள்ளது.
சமீபத்தில் மாநில அளவிலான அங்கீகாரம் பெற்ற கட்சி, அதன் மாவட்ட அளவிலான அலகுகளை தற்போதுள்ள 144ல் இருந்து 234 ஆக உயர்த்தும். இந்த முயற்சி அடிமட்ட நிர்வாகத்தை மேம்படுத்துவதையும் உள்ளூர் அளவில் சிறந்த பிரதிநிதித்துவத்தை உறுதி செய்வதையும் நோக்கமாகக் கொண்டுள்ளது.
விசிகே வட்டாரங்களின்படி, மறுசீரமைப்பு செயல்முறையை மேற்பார்வையிட மூத்த கட்சித் தலைவர்கள் நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளனர். இந்தத் தலைவர்கள் ஒவ்வொருவரும் மூன்று சட்டமன்றத் தொகுதிகளுக்குப் பொறுப்பாவார்கள், விண்ணப்பங்களை மதிப்பாய்வு செய்தல் மற்றும் முக்கியப் பணிகளுக்கான நேர்காணல் நடத்துதல்.

திருமாவளவன் பின்னர் முதல்வர் மு.க.ஸ்டாலினை சந்தித்து பதற்றத்தை சமாளித்து வந்தாலும், இதுபோன்ற கருத்துக்கள் திமுகவுடனான கூட்டணிக்கு பாதிப்பை ஏற்படுத்தும் என விசிக மூத்த தலைவர்கள் கவலை தெரிவித்தனர்.

The party has committed to reserving 10% of district secretary roles for non-Dalits and women, alongside ensuring that 25% of all leadership positions are allocated to individuals under the age of 35.
Chennai — The Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), a Dalit-focused political party in Tamil Nadu, has unveiled plans for a major organisational overhaul to bolster its presence across the state.
The party, which recently attained state-level recognition, will increase its district-level units from the existing 144 to 234. This initiative is aimed at enhancing grassroots management and ensuring better representation at the local level.
According to sources within the VCK, senior party leaders have been assigned to oversee the restructuring process. These leaders will each be responsible for three Assembly constituencies, reviewing applications and conducting interviews for key roles.
Under the revamped structure, each of the 234 Assembly constituencies will have a designated secretary, while booth-level leadership will also be reinforced. Additionally, each district committee will comprise one secretary, four deputy secretaries (with mandatory representation for women and non-Dalits), two executive committee members, and four additional members.
The party has committed to reserving 10% of district secretary roles for non-Dalits and women, alongside ensuring that 25% of all leadership positions are allocated to individuals under the age of 35.
This move is part of the VCK’s broader effort to transition from being a Dalit-centric party to a pro-poor political force representing diverse social groups. The inclusion of non-Dalit members in district committees reflects this strategic shift, which also extends to lower-level party structures.
The VCK’s inclusive approach is not new, as the party has previously fielded non-Dalits and Muslims for MLA seats. Currently, 17 district secretaries are non-Dalits, along with five Muslims and one Christian.
The VCK, a key ally of the ruling DMK, holds four seats in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly and has two Lok Sabha MPs—party founder Thol Thirumavalavan and General Secretary D. Ravikumar—representing Chidambaram and Villupuram constituencies reserved for Scheduled Castes.
Recently, the party was embroiled in controversy following remarks by Deputy General Secretary Aadhav Arjuna. He questioned why VCK members could not aspire for Thirumavalavan to become the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, drawing parallels to similar ambitions among actor-turned-politicians. His comments were perceived as an indirect critique of DMK youth wing leader Udhayanidhi Stalin, causing unease within the alliance.
Though Thirumavalavan later met Chief Minister M. K. Stalin to smooth over tensions, senior VCK leaders expressed concern that such statements could harm the party’s alliance with the DMK.

H.2024 Elections are between BJP vs Others..In many states BJP has lost and Tamil Nadu is one among the state.But it doesn't means the DMK is best.
I.In almost all villages young people are waiting over to TVK.Most of the party leaders entered politics to earn except MGR,Vijayakanth and Vijay who always spent for public.Let us wait and See in 2026..But the trends are in favour of TVK.
J.In almost all the political parties the average age of Ministers,MLAs,MPs and Party post are 57 to 87..No where 35 year youngsters are included except the existing leaders son or daughters.
The VCK must learn from BSP and work accordingly.
