There are so many beautiful, powerful and life changing lessons you can learn from studying Buddhism and from reading many of Buddha’s quotes.
Here are 20 Life Changing Lessons from Buddha Which will help you to live peacefully and with happiness.
1. Love heals all things (bad or worst)
(A)“Hatred does not cease by hatred, but only by love; this is the eternal rule.”
(B)Start loving parents, brothers and sisters, spouse and then move on to others, and all living creatures.
2. It’s not what you say but what you do that defines you.
“A man is not called wise because he talks and talks again; but if he is peaceful, loving and fearless then he is in truth called wise.”
“A dog is not considered a good dog because he is a good barker. A man is not considered a good man because he is a good talker.”
3. The secret of good health is to live fully in the NOW.
“Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment.”
“The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, nor to worry about the future, but to live the present moment wisely and earnestly.”
4. Words have the power to both hurt and to heal.
“Words have the power to both destroy and heal. When words are both true and kind, they can change our world.”
5. Let it go and it will be yours forever.
“You only lose what you cling to.”
6. No one can walk your path for you and you have to.
“No one saves us but ourselves. No one can and no one may. We ourselves must walk the path.”
7. Happiness never decreases by being shared.
“Thousands of candles can be lit from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared.”
8. Be kind to all.
“Resolve to be
(a)tender with the young,
(b)compassionate with the aged,
(c)sympathetic with the striving and
(d) tolerant with the weak and wrong.
Sometime in your life, you will have been in all of these.”
“Have compassion for all beings, rich and poor alike; each has their suffering. Some suffer too much, others too little.”
“Teach this triple truth to all: A generous heart, kind speech, and a life of service and compassion are the things which renew humanity.”
9. Don’t believe everything you are told to believe.
(a)“Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it.
(b)Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many.
(c)Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books.
(d)Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders.
(e)Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations.
(f)But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.”
10. As you THINK so shall you be
“All that we are is the result of what we have thought: it is founded on our thoughts and made up of our thoughts.
(a)If a man speak or act with an evil thought, suffering follows him as the wheel follows the hoof of the beast that draws the wagon….
(b)If a man speak or act with a good thought, happiness follows him like a shadow that never leaves him.”
11. Let go of fear.
“The whole secret of existence is to have no fear. Never fear what will become of you, depend on no one. Only the moment you reject all help are you freed.”
12. The truth has a way of always leaking out.
“Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.”
13. Control your mind or it will control you.
“To enjoy good health, to bring true happiness to one’s family, to bring peace to all, one must first discipline and control one’s own mind. If a man can control his mind he can find the way to Enlightenment, and all wisdom and virtue will naturally come to him.”
“It is a man’s own mind, not his enemy or foe, that lures him to evil ways.”
14. Doubt separates. Trust unites.
“There is nothing more dreadful than the habit of doubt. Doubt separates people. It is a poison that disintegrates friendships and breaks up pleasant relations. It is a thorn that irritates and hurts; it is a sword that kills.”
15. Nobody is more deserving of your love than you yourself are.
“You can search throughout the entire universe for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and that person is not to be found anywhere. You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.”
16. Knowing others is wisdom, knowing yourself is enlightenment.
“It is better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles. Then the victory is yours. It cannot be taken from you, not by angels or by demons, heaven or hell.”
17. Let go of attachment.
“To live a pure unselfish life, one must count nothing as one’s own in the midst of abundance.”
18. Choose your friends wisely.
“An insincere and evil friend is more to be feared than a wild beast; a wild beast may wound your body, but an evil friend will wound your mind.”
19. There is no way to happiness. Happiness is the way.
“There is no path to happiness: happiness is the path.”
20. Love. Live. Let go.
“In the end these things matter most:
How well did you love?
How fully did you live?
How deeply did you let go?”
Be happy, allow others to be happy, share happiness.

Internal quota stirs Dalit pot in Tamil Nadu

For years, the major dalit parties in Tamil Nadu – Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) representing paraiyars and Puthiya Tamilagam (PT) that represents pallars (who, along with six other sub-sects, have been called devendrakula vellalars) – have had an uneasy truce. They rarely criticised each other in public forums, though they do not see eye to eye on many issues. The relatively less powerful Athi Tamizhar Peravai, which represents arunthathiyars too has desisted from taking on either VCK or PT.
A recent Supreme Court order upholding sub classification of scheduled castes and validating 3% reservation for arunthathiyars within the 18 % quota for scheduled castes, has stirred the pot. PT president K Krishnaswamy has accused VCK chief Thol Thirumavalavan of adopting double standards on reservation; Athi Tamizhar Peravai has criticised both VCK and PT for opposing the internal quota.
The bitterness has seeped down to the cadres, triggering debates on the implications of internal quota for arunthathiyars on other dalit communities.
Dalit analysts fear the 15-year-old reservation for arunthathiyars might not augur well for dalit unity in Tamil Nadu.
Krishnaswamy has been the loudest voice against internal quota, which he says is a ploy to divide scheduled castes. He called the report of the Justice Janarthanan commission (formed to submit a report on the status of arunthathiyars in TN) halfbaked. “The commission report was prepared without due diligence and submitted without supporting statistical data on the backwardness of arunthathiyars,” says Krishnaswamy.
Arunthathiyars, at the bottom of the social pyramid, are found largely in the western districts, while devendrakula vellalars are spread across the southern districts and paraiyars are prevalent in the northern districts. Justice Janarthanan commission said arunthathiyars account for 16% of dalit population and recommended a proportionate reservation, which was granted by the Special Reservation Act passed in 2009.
Krishnaswamy argues that Thirumavalavan approached SC with a review petition on the verdict upholding internal quota, though he claims to support the arunthathiyar quota. In response, Thirumavalavan reiterated that VCK is not against internal reservation for arunthathiyars; it only opposes compartmentalisation of dalits. The review petition was not against the 3% quota for arunthathiyar, but against the verdict which gives room for state govts to divide dalits as per their whims, he says.
Athi Tamizhar Peravai founder R Athiyaman is angry at both. “They have enjoyed the benefits of reservation all these years, now they are not ready to forgo the benefits,” heppplllppppppppp says. He points out that in 2008 when the commission began its study, there was not even one arunthathiyar among the 32 dalit IPS officers, though they constituted 2.8 % of TN population according to the 2001 census. There was no vice-chancellor, no syndicate member or senate member from our community, he says.
Reservation, however, enabled arunthathiyar youth to climb the ladder. “Now 70 arunthathiyars join MBBS every year. They have become engineers, teachers, policemen and village administrative officers,” says Athiyaman. Still, arunthathiyars have a long way to go. Other dalit communities often infringe on the 3% quota. In university postings, if no qualified arunthathiyar has applied, the seat goes to a parayar or devendrakula vellalar,” he says. At present, there are only three arunthathiyar MLAs, while more than 20 legislators each belong to devendrakula vellalar and parayar sects.
Some dalit activists say the internal quota has flaws. In the roster system (where castes are assigned for all the posts that fall vacant) followed in universities, the first post is assigned as general, where anyone can compete. It is followed by SC, MBC and BC. When the internal quota was implemented, SC (arunthathiyar) was brought to the second slot, pushing SC to the seventh slot. “The problem is when there are only three or four postings, it doesn’t come to an SC,” says a senior academician who doesn’t want to be named.
Since each department in the university is considered a separate unit, the roster system needs to be followed individually by the departments. “If 10 university departments invite applications for four posts each, arunthathiyars get 10 posts, while other SCs get nothing,” says J Balasubramaniam, associate professor at Madurai Kamaraj university. “Arunthathiyars can apply for an SC post, but not vice versa.” He points out that when Muslims were given internal quota carving out from BC reservation, the slot assigned for BC in the roster system was not disturbed. BC retained its fourth slot while BC (Muslims) were assigned the 11th slot.
VCK and PT leaders say they are against any rift among dalits. “We do not want anyone to deprive them of their share in postings. Let arunthathiyars have 3%, but the remaining 15% should be protected and given to other dalit communities,” says Krishnaswamy.
Dalit scholar Karthikeyan Damodaran says it is important to provide preferential treatment to arunthathiyars who are mostly landless and without political backing. “But the way reservation is being implemented denies others equal opportunity,” he says.
He says the emergence of dalit parties in the 1990s was an outcome of a counter hegemonic discourse against Dravidian parties. “But now the dalit parties are fully co-opted by Dravidian parties. This quota is another ploy to nullify their political assertion and mobilisation. This is not good for the community which is already marginalised,” he says.
VCK general secretary D Ravikumar says the way forward is to form a commission to collect statistical evidence on the impact of internal reservation and work out changes that need to be done to the system.

“Not a Single Extra Day!” – BANAE Lists 10 Reasons Why IIM Bangalore Director Doesn’t Deserve Extension, Cites Caste Discrimination & Unplaced Students
BANAE Urges President to Block Extension of IIM Bangalore Director Over Allegations of Caste Discrimination and Corruption
Bangalore- The Dr. Babasaheb National Association of Engineers (BANAE) has demanded that IIM Bangalore Director, Rishikesha T. Krishnan, not be granted any extension beyond his current tenure ending on July 30, 2025. The demand follows serious allegations of caste discrimination, harassment, and financial irregularities under his leadership.
In a letter to the President of India and the Ministry of Education, BANAE National President Nagseen Sonare cited an investigation by the Directorate of Civil Rights Enforcement (DCRE), Karnataka Police, which found the director and other faculty members guilty of caste discrimination against a Dalit faculty member Prof Gopal Das
An FIR (No. 467/2024) was registered on December 20, 2024, against Director Rishikesha T Krishnan and faculty members Dinesh Kumar, G Shainesh, Srinivas Prakhya, Sreelata Jonnalagedda, Rahul De, Ashis Mishra, and Chetan Subramanian.
Notably, the Karnataka High Court stayed proceedings on the FIR and all further probe against the accused individuals.
The letter urges the government and IIMB authorities to ensure Krishnan does not receive even a single day of extension after July 30, 2025.
?127 Cr Compensation for Intellectual Property Loss — Maharashtra Govt’s Delay Rooted in Caste, Not Money, Say Dalit Researchers
BANAE has highlighted multiple instances of alleged misconduct and violations during Krishnan’s tenure.
The association claims that over 100 students remain unplaced due to placement failures, while marginalized students have allegedly faced caste-based harassment and discrimination.
The letter claims Krishnan has been reportedly been violating the constitutional rights of minority students, along with repeated breaches of government-mandated reservation policies and constitutional protections for SC, ST, and OBC students.
Allegations of nepotism and favoritism in faculty and administrative appointments have also surfaced, alongside claims of financial irregularities in infrastructure projects, internal appointments, travel, and tenders.
Additionally, he has been accused of discriminating against a minor child, and several faculty members from marginalized backgrounds have reportedly resigned due to continued harassment.
The letter urges the government and IIMB authorities to ensure Krishnan does not receive even a single day of extension after July 30, 2025.
BANAE also raised concerns over delays in appointing the next IIMB Director, suspecting that the process is being stalled to favor Krishnan’s continuation.
Copies of the letter have been sent to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, SC/ST Parliamentary Committee Chairperson Faggan Singh Kulaste, NCSC Chairman Kishor Makwana, and the NCST Chairperson.
This case has reignited debates about caste-based discrimination in India’s premier educational institutions and the need for stricter oversight to uphold constitutional protections.

Dalit Groom’s Baarat Taken Out Amid Tight Security In Rajasthan’s Jhunjhunu

Over 60 jawans of Quick Reaction Team and police personnel stood guard as the baarat was taken out in the village.
Khetri/Jhunjhunu: A Dalit groom’s baarat was taken out under heavy security at Govinddaspur village under Mehara police station area of Jhunjhunu district.
Over 60 jawans of Quick Reaction Team and police personnel stood guard as the baarat was taken out in the village with the groom Rakesh riding a mare while holding a framed portrait of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar. Mehara police station in-charge Bhajanram said a complaint was received alleging Rakesh was threatened of dire consequences if he sat on the mare for the baarat procession. He said police personnel rushed to the village two days back and detained a few people accused of threatening Rakesh.
Rakesh and his family were threatened by some youth of the village who asked him not to sit on the mare. Rakesh’s family then reported the matter to the police which detained over half a dozen people from the village. Personnel from Mehara, Khetri, Khetri Nagar and Babai police stations were deployed in the village while Rakesh’s baarat was taken out. Apart from the police personnel, Bhim Army district president Vikas Aalha and State Secretary Ravi Marodiya were present at the village.
In December last year, a Dalit groom was forced off the mare and stones thrown at his wedding procession as it was passing through a upper-caste neighbourhood in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr district. Robin Singh, a police constable, was on his way to the bride’s home on December 11 when a group of men seized the horse by the reins and forced him down, the family alleged in its complaint. They threw stones and harassed the women in the wedding party. The accused also damaged the music system and a DJ was injured in the stone-pelting, according to the complaint by the groom’s father Nandram Singh.

Odisha’s buddhist past makes itself present

Six decades after Debala Mitra, India’s first woman archaeologist and former director general of ASI, excavated two magnificent quadrangular monasteries, a large stupa, cluster of shrines and numerous sculptures from Ratnagiri, also known as Odisha’s ‘Hill of Jewels’, a large Buddhist shrine is now raising its head from a mound on the southern direction of the monasteries.
The ASI’s Puri circle has been excavating the site since December 5 last year and in the last one month, it has found three colossal Buddha heads, hundreds of votive stupas, stone inscriptions and images of Buddhist gods and goddesses, all pointing to the archaeological richness hitherto not known to the world.
Shrine Complex Emerges
Buddhist remains atop the Ratnagiri were first noticed by archaeologist MM Chakrabarty in 1905 and subsequently, the first systematic excavation of the site was carried out by Mitra from 1958 to 1961. She had then dated the site to 5th century CE whose development continued till 12th century CE. The downfall began in the 13th century CE as a result of Muslim invasion, historians say.
Prior to the December 2024 excavation, a small portion of what appeared to be a Buddhist head and some other structural remains were visible on southern side of the main monastery.
According to superintending archaeologist of ASI DB Garnayak, the objective of the excavation was to find out if there existed a shrine complex which is a sacred Buddhist assembly or prayer hall, in Ratnagiri. Unlike its contemporary sites Lalitgiri and Udaygiri which have shrine complexes, no such structure was found in the previous excavation of Ratnagiri. “Since some archaeological remains were seen buried at this unexcavated mound, we began the dig to look for it. Now after two months of spade work, we believe that this is where the shrine complex was located,” he said.
What further strengthened this theory is the discovery of three colossal heads of Lord Buddha with elongated earlobes and a lion pedestal from the site. The beautifully-carved heads with partially closed eyes show Buddha in a contemplative mood. The heads and ‘ushnisha’ (protuberance on the head of Buddha symbolising wisdom, enlightenment, and spiritual attainment) are intricately decorated with several rows of curls.
“An interesting aspect of the Buddha heads is the noses in all the three are intact. Usually, invaders are found to have damaged noses of sculptures but here, it seems the sculptures were so tall that the nose remained inaccessible. Hence, the invaders may have broken the sculptures just below the neck,” he said. Close to the pedestal, a circular structure having a khondolite base, decorated with a serpent deity holding a ceremonial pot, a mythical lion and flowers, has been found.
Two similar Buddha heads were found during the 1960s excavation and are currently housed in the Ratnagiri museum.
Significance of Ratnagiri
Considered one of the most important and largest Buddhist establishments in the state, Ratnagiri (also known as Ratnagiri Mahavihara) is spread across 18 acre of land on the Assia hill range on the left bank of Kelua river, a tributary of Brahmani in Jajpur district.
Having earned the fame as a center of learning for yoga and tantra, many historians and Mitra had compared Ratnagiri with Nalanda. The site flourished as an important Buddhist establishment under the royal patronage of Bhaumakaras during the 9th-10th century CE. The archaeological vestiges of the site are dated from 5th century CE to 13th-14th century CE.
According to Buddhism expert Sunil Patnaik, the site has two phases of history. The first phase of 200 years belonged to Mahayana Buddhism and the rest saw Vajrayana or Tantric Buddhism. It is believed that Vajrayana Buddhism from Ratnagiri migrated to Southeast Asian countries, particularly the cult of Tara to Java and Tibet towards 9th-10th century CE, he added.
Inscriptions & Dating
Among the significant latest finds are the inscriptions in form of stone tablets and on votive stupas, which have helped the archaeologists date the Buddha heads. Garnayak said the dates of the two heads in the museum and those found from the mound could not be ascertained till the inscriptions were discovered. The inscriptions are written in Sanskrit language and in Kutila script. Archaeologist Prof Subrat Acharya and director of ASI’s epigraphy branch at Mysuru K Munirathnam translated the inscriptions and dated it back to mid-7th to 8th century CE.
This helped the archaeologists conclude that the heads belong to the 8th century CE. Many of the inscriptions have ‘dharani’ (Buddhist hymns) on them. This apart, some inscriptions of 12th century CE in Nagari script have been found.
After discovery of the Buddha heads, the scope of excavation on the mound has been further expanded to ascertain the nature of the structures found, factors behind demolition or collapse of the structural remains and the site’s pottery assemblage (collection of ceramic vessels and fragments found in the site).
Pottery Assemblage
Pottery, Garnayak said, is considered the alphabet of archaeology because it reveals the food habits, religion and social system of a place. “Therefore, during this excavation, we are giving more emphasis on pottery assemblage which was not the case during the 1960s excavation when the focus was more on structural findings,” he said.
In the last fortnight, a large number of pottery shreds have been found which reveal the pottery assemblage of the site is largely dominated by greyware followed by redware pottery. While a large number of excavated shreds are plain, a few have geometric designs and it is assumed that the shreds are of lamps, bowls and dishes. While ASI has earlier discovered pottery of 5th to 6th century CE from various sites across the state, the ceramics found from Ratnagiri date back to 7th-8th century CE to 14th century CE, giving a link to the medieval ceramic tradition of Odisha.
This apart, one of the most striking finds is a broken monolithic elephant, an imposing structure measuring five feet in length and over 3.5 feet tall, making it one of the largest and most graceful of its kind in Odisha.
Maritime Link & Tantrayana
It is believed that Buddhist establishments were generally patronised by traders from southeast Asian countries in the ancient times. The excavation is also directed towards finding Ratnagiri’s link with any Southeast Asian countries and archaeologists have been looking for related material culture at the site. However, they have had no luck so far except finding only a few celadon shards. Celadon ceramic pottery style has its origin in China. “Only if we get a lot of celadons, we can say that the site had a maritime link like Barabati and Khalkatapatna but that isn’t the case so far,” Garnayak said.
But what are being found in large numbers from the excavated shrine complex are idols of Buddhist gods and goddesses and votive stupas related to Vajrayana Buddhism. So far, archaeologists have dug out close to 50 idols of Buddhist deities like Tara, Chunda, Hariti, Avalokitesvara, Heruk, Marichi, Jambhala, Manjushri, Arapachana, Vajrasattva and Vasudhara, among others.
Also, hundreds of stupas, both monolithic votive stupas and structural stupas continue to be excavated from the mound. In the votive stupas, there are niches (small spaces carved into the structure) which house idols of Buddha in Bhumisparsa and Dhyana mudras and other deities like Aparchana, Avalokitesvara, Chunda and Dhyana. Votive stupas are generally ofl
Ll stupas have also been found which house four divinities in four directions. Stating that Ratnagiri has the highest number of votive stupas compared to any other Buddhist site in Odisha, Garnayak said it is the best site to study the iconographical feature of Vajrayana Buddhism.
ASI plans to continue Ratnagiri excavation for a few more months to trace out more monastic evidence, the presence of which is evident from the 18 acre site.
Case registered against bank officials
Updated - February 18, 2025 12:28 am IST - KOCHI
The Ernakulam Central police have registered a case against the assistant manager and chief regional manager of a bank based on a complaint filed by an employee alleging caste discrimination and assault.
Following this, the Bank Employees Federation of India (BEFI) staged a dharna on Monday (February 17) in front of the bank’s regional office. The two managers reportedly used caste slurs in Hindi against the employee, and one of them allegedly assaulted him when he refused to purchase medicines for him. One of the managers secured bail from the Kerala High Court after being charged under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, while the other manager belongs to a Scheduled Caste community. The police have collected evidence, including CCTV footage, as part of their investigation.
Bihar.Hats off salute to Chirag.(Ram Vilas Paswan is instrumental for introducing Reservations to OBC)
.............
PATNA: Union minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) president Chirag Paswan on Sunday expressed his disagreement with the Supreme Court observation over creamy layer among Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) and announced that his party would file a review petition against the ruling.
Chirag, who got elected from his father late Ram Vilas Paswan's home constituency of Hajipur in the Lok Sabha polls, draws strength from a sizeable Dalit vote base. According to the recent Bihar caste survey, SC and ST together comprise 21.3% of the state's total population, indicating their political significance.
Talking to mediapersons here, Chirag said the basis for granting reservation to this community is "untouchability" and hence the concept of "creamy layer" should not apply.
"We disagree with the Supreme Court's observation and have registered it prominently. We are clear that the basis of classification of the Scheduled Caste is untouchability, not educational or economic status. So, there can't be a provision for creamy layer...reservation within reservation is not fair," Chirag said, adding his party would soon file a review petition in the Supreme Court.
Stating that the quota within quota doesn't apply to Scheduled Castes, Chirag said the people from this community are discriminated against even today. "Many people from this community hold high positions yet when they visit temples, these places are purified with the Ganga water. Even today we get to see Dalit grooms being prevented from riding a horse. Discrimination takes place due to untouchability," he said.
Tension grips Sangrur village over Ambedkar statue installation
Tension gripped Baghrol village in Sangrur after two groups of villagers pelted stones and bricks on each other amid separate views on the installation of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar’s statue on Sunday. Some persons were injured in the incident. However, the situation was brought under control after police officials rushed to the spot.
As per information, the statue was being reportedly installed after the passage of a resolution by the village panchayat on the demand of members of the Scheduled Caste community. However, the community members were opposing the installation of the statue at that particular spot, where it was being installed. The people demanded that the statue be installed at some other place in the village, following which a clash erupted between both the groups. SSP Sartaj Singh Chahal said the police would record the statements of the injured, following which legal proceedings would be initiated in the case. He said the situation was now normal in the village.
Opposition slams TN government for murder of two youths in Mayiladuthurai

They criticised the explanation given by police that the murder was due to previous enmity and termed it as an attempt to cover it up as it was indeed due to illicit sale of liquor. AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami, in a post on X expressed shock about the order and said they were killed for preventing the sale of illicit liquor. Criticising the narrative of police, he asked, “Is the police writing the verdict before the investigation.”
Alleging that Chief Minister MK Stalin was focussing more on promoting himself, he urged the CM to instead focus on public service and ensuring safety.
PMK founder Dr S Ramadoss criticised the police for allegedly trying to cover up the issue. He demanded action on local police authorities for their negligence and urged the government to provide `50 lakh as compensation to each of the victims’ families.
BJP state president K Annamalai alleged that the state was heading towards a situation worse than DMK’s ‘dark rule’ from 2006 to 2011. TMC(M) president GK Vasan, AMMK general secretary TTV Dhinakaran, and other leaders also strongly condemned the murders and called for immediate action.
Meanwhile, CPM urged the state government to take action against the accused and the local police station. The party further urged the government to provide Rs 25 lakh as compensation to the bereaved families.
MP, Ranjith raise concern over attacks on Dalits
Chennai : Villupuram MP D Ravikumar and director Pa Ranjith have expressed deep concern over rising caste-based attacks in Tamil Nadu. Referring to a recent incident where a Dalit youth was assaulted by a three-member caste Hindu gang for riding a motorcycle, Ravikumar condemned the increasing violence against Dalits. In a post on X, the VCK leader stated, “It is distressing that Tamil Nadu, which competes with Maharashtra for the top spot in economic growth and Kerala for the top spot in literacy, is competing with Uttar Pradesh for the top spot in caste-based atrocities.”
Pa Ranjith asked the government to take action to stop such atrocities in a post on X. “In just the past few days, multiple incidents of violence have taken place. Will you take action to stop these atrocities, or at the very least, acknowledge that they are happening?” He added, “Dear Chief Minister, if your Adi Dravidar Welfare Department, as well as the MPs and MLAs representing reserved constituencies, are occupied with other priorities, we are prepared to provide you with a detailed report on the recent incidents.”
