Benefits of Meditation.
☸️☸️☸️☸️☸️☸️☸️☸️
Meditation is an ancient Buddha practice that has gained significant scientific backing in recent years. It acts like a "gym for the brain," strengthening your mental faculties while simultaneously calming your body's physiological stress responses.

Here are the primary benefits of meditation, categorized by their impact on your life:

1)🧠 Mental & Cognitive Benefits.

 * Reduced Stress and Anxiety:

 Meditation lowers levels of cortisol (the stress hormone).

It helps break the "rumination cycle"—the habit of worrying about the past or future—by grounding you in the present.

 * Enhanced Focus and Attention:

Regular practice increases the thickness of the prefrontal cortex, the area of the brain responsible for planning, focus, and impulse control.

 * Better Emotional Regulation:

It shrinks the amygdala (the brain's "fear center"), making you less reactive to negative feedback and more resilient during difficult situations.

 * Memory Preservation:

Studies suggest that daily meditation can slow age-related memory loss and improve mental quickness in older adults.

2)🧘 Physical Health Benefits

 * Heart Health

By relaxing the nerve signals that coordinate heart function, meditation can lower blood pressure and reduce strain on the heart, decreasing the risk of cardiovascular disease.

 * Improved Sleep:

Mindfulness techniques help quiet the "mental chatter" that leads to insomnia, helping you fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer.

 * Pain Management:

 Meditation changes how the brain perceives pain. It is often used as a supplement to medical treatment for chronic conditions like fibromyalgia or migraines.

 * Boosted Immunity:

 Research shows that meditation can reduce inflammation at the cellular level and improve the body's immune response to viruses.

3)🌈 Emotional & Social Benefits

Benefit | How it Works
| Increased Self-Awareness | You learn to observe your thoughts without judgment, helping you recognize harmful patterns. |

| Greater Compassion |

 Practices like "Loving-Kindness" meditation increase empathy and decrease social anxiety. |

| Addiction Recovery |

It builds mental discipline and willpower, helping people redirect their attention away from triggers or cravings. |
How to Start
You don't need hours of silence to see results. Science shows that even 10–13 minutes of daily practice for eight weeks can produce measurable changes in brain chemistry and mood.

The Truth Behind the Death of the Dalit Girl: Tortured Over Fees, Then the College Itself Wrote the Exam Papers to Cover Up; FSL Report Exposes the Deception

A new twist in the suicide case stemming from a fee dispute; forensic investigation exposes the college administration's claims, handwriting in the answer sheet found to be someone else's, SIT adds new charges.

Bhiwani/Chandigarh: A shocking revelation has emerged in the suicide case of a 22-year-old Dalit college student in Loharu, Bhiwani district of Haryana, last year. The investigation by the police’s Special Investigation Team (SIT) has revealed that the handwriting on the answer sheet of the exam in question does not belong to the deceased student. This revelation has exposed the claims of the college administration.

New Sections Added After FSL Report

The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report has confirmed that the handwriting on the answer sheet does not match the student’s handwriting. Based on this scientific evidence, the SIT has added new charges against college director Hanuman and his son Rahul under sections 338 (Forgery of valuable security or will, etc.), 336 (Forgery – making false documents with intent to cause harm or defraud) and other relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

What is the whole case?

The deceased student’s family had alleged that the college administration did not allow her to sit for the BA (5th semester) examination due to non-payment of fees. The family also claimed that the accused Rahul used to harass the student over the phone, which led her to commit suicide. The college authorities, however, had rejected these allegations, claiming that the student had appeared for the examination. But now the forensic investigation has changed the narrative.

SIT Submits Report to Court

The SIT, led by DSP Vikas Kumar of the State Crime Branch, filed its status report in the Bhiwani court on December 5. The DSP stated in the report, “On August 13, the student’s 5th-semester answer sheets and her diary were sent to the forensic lab in Delhi for handwriting matching and authenticity verification. On September 8, we received the FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory) report, which clearly stated that the handwriting on the answer sheets did not match that of the deceased.”

Following the receipt of the report, new sections such as 338, 336, and 340 (using forged documents) were added against Hanuman and his son Rahul in the FIR registered on December 27, 2024 (which was earlier under sections 108, 3(5), and 238-B of the BNS). The investigation in the case is still ongoing.

SC Commission’s intervention changed the direction of the investigation

Earlier, the former investigating officer (IO), DSP Vivek Chaudhary, had claimed in his report that the student had committed suicide fearing that her parents would find out about her alleged ‘relationship’ with the accused Rahul. He had tried to give a clean chit to college director Hanuman, his son Rahul, daughter Sanju, and Principal Sarita.

However, an application was filed on March 23 to acquit the accused, which the National Commission for Scheduled Castes took suo motu cognizance of. On May 14, the commission found the previous investigation unsatisfactory and procedurally flawed. The commission had clearly ordered that the student’s answer sheets, hall ticket, and call details be examined by the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL).

The commission had directed that no closure report would be filed in court until the forensic results were received. Only after this was the investigating officer changed and a fresh investigation began.

Demand to cancel the bail of the accused

The student’s lawyer, Rajat Kalsan, said that he has today argued in court for the cancellation of the bail application of the accused father and son and demanded that the police also investigate the role of the college owner. The deceased girl’s father said that the FSL report has exposed the college management’s false claim that his daughter was allowed to sit for the exam. He demanded, “The police should investigate who sat for the exam in my daughter’s place, and strict action should be taken against all those involved in this conspiracy.”

Samiti observes 98th anniversary of Manusmriti Dahan Divas by burning copies

Members of the Karnataka State Dalit Sangharsha Samiti (DSS) on Thursday observed the 98th anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s historic burning of the Manusmriti by staging a protest and symbolically setting fire to copies of the text at Jagat Circle in Kalaburagi city.

The protest was organised to commemorate Dr. Ambedkar’s act of defiance during the Mahad Satyagraha in 1927, when he publicly burnt the Manusmriti to challenge caste-based oppression and gender discrimination. As part of the demonstration, activists took out a protest march from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Chowk to Jagat Circle carrying a copy of the Manusmriti before burning it, symbolising the rejection of an exploitative and discriminatory social order.

Arjun Bhadre, State convener of the Dalit Sangharsha Samiti, said the act of burning the text represented the rejection of centuries of exploitation and injustice imposed on marginalised communities.

Mr. Bhadre recalled that Dr. Ambedkar firmly believed that as long as right-wing ideology dominated society, India could not achieve true progress. “Dr. Ambedkar burnt the Manusmriti on December 25, 1927, during the Mahad Satyagraha to send a powerful message against caste oppression. His struggle continues to inspire us even today,” he said.

The agitators added that caste-based discrimination continued in various forms and that sustained ideological and political resistance was necessary to safeguard constitutional values. “We have been fighting caste oppression for centuries. Dr. Ambedkar was the first to raise his voice openly against such practices, and today it is our responsibility to carry forward that struggle collectively,” Mr. Bhadre said.

Out of the country’s population of about 137 crores, nearly 85 crores of people live in rural areas, where the practice of untouchability continues in many forms. Despite constitutional safeguards and decades of social reform, caste-based discrimination remains deeply rooted in rural society, Mr Bhadre expressed.

PM Modi Slams ‘Parivarvad’, Says BJP Restored Legacy Of Ambedkar And Patel

Lucknow: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday claimed that there were attempts to erase the contributions of national icons like Babasaheb Ambedkar and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, after Independence, and it was the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government which prioritised restoration of their enduring legacy and also ensured that they “got their rightful due”.

Hitting out at the politics of ‘parivarvad and culture of “linking” every good work with a particular family, apparently the Gandhis, the Prime Minister said that the BJP was committed to acknowledging and honouring the contribution of every son of Mother India.

The sharp criticism of dynastic politics by PM Modi came after he inaugurated the Rashtriya Prerna Sthal in Lucknow, a landmark national memorial and complex dedicated to celebrating the life and ideals of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay.

PM Modi said that after India attained Independence, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s resolve in unifying the nation by bringing together small provinces was praiseworthy, but then there was an attempt to diminish and demean his contributions.

“It is the BJP government which gave Sardar Patel the respect he deserved. The BJP government built the tallest statue of Sardar Patel, erected in Ekta Nagar. Now, every year, National Unity Day is celebrated on 31st October,” PM Modi said.

He further stated that the tribal community remained deprived of the respect that it deserves for decades, and again, it was the BJP, which stood for them and went to build a grand memorial for Lord Birsa Munda.

“Recently, the construction of the Shaheed Narayan Singh Tribal Museum was completed in Chhattisgarh. In Uttar Pradesh, the memorial of Maharaja Suheldev was built under the BJP government. It is only now that the meeting place of Nishadraj and Lord Shri Ram has received the honour and respect it deserves,” PM Modi pointed out.

The Prime Minister said that the politics of ‘parivarvad’ survives on a unique trait — by removing the contribution of others and extolling one’s own.

He went to count upon the efforts undertaken by the BJP governments to restore the legacy of historical figures, including Babasaheb Ambedkar and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.

“Today, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s statue is installed at Delhi’s Kartavya Path. Andaman, the island where Netaji hoisted the flag, has been named after him,” PM Modi mentioned.

Slamming the Congress and Samajwadi Party, without taking names, PM Modi said there were attempts to weaken and undermine the contributions of Dr BR Ambedkar, but the BJP ensured that Babasaheb’s legacy was not only upheld but also celebrated.

Dalit news.

As of December 26-27, 2025, several significant reports concerning Dalit rights and caste-based atrocities have emerged across India. The news covers recent violent incidents, institutional discrimination, and long-standing legal challenges.
Major Atrocity & Violence Reports
 * Hubballi "Honour" Killing Protest (Karnataka): On December 26, a coalition of Dalit and progressive organizations held a candlelight vigil at Freedom Park, Bengaluru. They were protesting the murder of Manya, a six-month-pregnant woman killed in Hubballi earlier this week by her own family for marrying outside her caste. Protesters are demanding a specific law to address "dishonour" crimes.
 * Pudukkottai Court Crisis (Tamil Nadu): A report highlighted that the Special Court in Pudukkottai, designated for SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act cases, has been without a permanent judge for seven years. Activists note that this has severely delayed justice for victims in what is considered an "atrocity-prone" district.
 * Sanitation Worker Deaths: An opinion piece published on December 26 highlighted the "grim reality" of Dalit sanitation workers, noting that over 470 workers have died in septic tanks between 2019 and late 2025. The report criticized the lack of mechanization and protective gear for these hazardous tasks, which still largely fall on Dalit communities.
Institutional & Academic News
 * Jamia Millia Islamia Suspension: On December 26, students and academics rallied in support of Professor Virendra Balaji Shahare, a Dalit professor who was suspended. The suspension followed a controversial exam question regarding atrocities against minorities. Supporters claim the professor is being unfairly targeted and that his suspension reflects a pattern of discrimination against marginalized faculty.
 * Keezhvenmani Anniversary: December 25-26 marked the 57th anniversary of the Keezhvenmani massacre in Tamil Nadu. Commemorative events were held to remember the 44 Dalit agricultural laborers killed in 1968, framing the event as a symbol of ongoing resistance against land and wage-based oppression.
Political & Advocacy Updates
 * Mayawati’s Statement: BSP President Mayawati expressed deep concern on December 25 over reports of a Dalit youth's killing in Bangladesh, using it to highlight that while atrocities continue in India, the regional safety of Dalit and Hindu minorities is a matter of grave international concern.
 * National Statistics for 2025: Human rights organizations (such as CJP) reported that in the first half of 2025 alone, 113 caste-based atrocities were documented across India. Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan were identified as high-incident states.
> Note on Safety: Many of these reports mention that "reactionary" violence and digital misinformation (such as anti-Dalit WhatsApp campaigns) are increasingly linked to incidents of caste-based conflict in late 2025.
Tribal Adivasi news.

On December 26, 2025, several significant developments occurred across India’s tribal (Adivasi) regions, ranging from major policy changes and cultural celebrations to land rights protests and legal demands.

🏛️ Policy & Self-Governance

 * Jharkhand PESA Rules:

Tribal organizations and grassroots leaders in Jharkhand formally welcomed the state cabinet’s approval of the Panchayat Provisions (Extension to Scheduled Areas) Rules (PESA). Chief Minister Hemant Soren described the move as a milestone for tribal self-rule, allowing Gram Sabhas in scheduled areas to make independent decisions on local issues.

 * Assam Interlocutor Appointment:

Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced the upcoming appointment of a senior interlocutor to address the constitutional and autonomous council demands of the Rabha, Mising, and Tiwa tribal communities in Assam.

✊ Protests & Land Rights

 * Karbi Anglong Unrest (Assam): Tensions remained high in the West Karbi Anglong district following violent clashes earlier in the week regarding the eviction of alleged illegal settlers from tribal grazing lands. On Dec 26, a tripartite meeting was held where CM Himanta Biswa Sarma agreed to approach the Gauhati High Court alongside tribal representatives to resolve the land encroachment issues.

 * Kolhan Land Dispute (Jharkhand):

Former CM Champai Soren accused the state government of "snatching" over 830 acres of tribal land in the Kolhan division for compensatory afforestation (linked to coal mining in Palamu), claiming the move bypassed traditional Manki-Munda governance systems.

 * Malekudiya Community Demands (Karnataka):

In Mangaluru, the Malekudiya community held its first major tribal gathering, demanding separate political representation in Gram Panchayats and an end to evictions from forest areas under the guise of wildlife conservation projects.

🎨 Culture & Recognition

 * National Tribal Trade Fair:

Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel inaugurated the three-day National Tribal Trade Fair 2025 at Vasrai in Surat. The fair features over 370 stalls showcasing tribal cuisine, handicrafts, and MSME products to promote the "Vocal for Local" initiative.

 * Santhali Constitution:

President Droupadi Murmu released the Constitution of India in the Santhali language (written in the Ol Chiki script), marking a major step in linguistic recognition for one of India's largest tribal groups.

 * Koraput Parab (Odisha):

The annual "Koraput Parab" festival continued in Odisha, celebrating the art, music, and dance of indigenous communities in the region.

⚖️ Legal & Human Rights

 * ST Certificate Scrutiny (Manipur):

 The Thadou Inpi Manipur (TIM) demanded a Supreme Court-mandated probe into irregularities regarding Scheduled Tribe (ST) certificates, asserting their distinct identity separate from other ethnic labels.

 * Religious Freedom Concerns:

The United Christian Forum (UCF) wrote to the Prime Minister flagging a rise in hostility in tribal regions (specifically Chhattisgarh and Odisha), citing disputes over burial rights and prayer meetings.
