  • In Erode district, a marriage hall owner allegedly refused to rent the hall for a Dalit couple’s wedding reception after learning their caste.

⚠️ 8 Districts Declared Atrocity-Prone (Demand)

NGO Evidence demanded the Tamil Nadu government declare these districts as “atrocity-prone zones” because of frequent caste violence:

  • Madurai
  • Tirunelveli
  • Thoothukudi
  • Sivaganga
  • Pudukottai
  • Ramanathapuram
  • Theni
  • Thanjavur

The demand followed a violent caste attack in Tirunelveli where two people were killed and five injured.

⚠️ ST Man Forced into Bonded Labour

  • In Udupi district, a woman was arrested for forcing a Koraga Scheduled Tribe man to work without wages for about 30 years.
