Tamil Nadu
1. Custodial death case registered under SC/ST Act – Sivaganga
- A young man’s custodial death case in Manamadurai (Sivaganga district) has been changed to murder and also registered under the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act after protests by Dalit groups.
- The Madras High Court monitored the case and ordered peaceful protest arrangements.
2. NGO demands 8 atrocity-prone districts
- NGO Evidence asked the Tamil Nadu government to declare these districts as atrocity-prone:
