Following this, the family filed a missing person report at the TP Nagar police station. Police began an investigation and examined CCTV footage from nearby areas. According to the police, due to this suspicion and dispute, the accused murdered Lalita and threw her body in a sugarcane field in the Upasiya forest in the Rohta police station area of ​​Meerut. The body was later recovered from there. The main accused, Ankush, has been arrested and sent to jail, while investigations into other aspects are still ongoing.
