NEWS 1: Tamil Nadu — Alleged Caste Discrimination in Burial Ground Access
In October, reports emerged from Perumpalli village near Perundurai in Erode district that two Dalit men were allegedly forced to prostrate before members of another community during a dispute over burial ground access. Police registered a case under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, and the burial was completed under official supervision.
Our demand: Equal access to burial grounds and strict enforcement of the law against caste-based humiliation.

NEWS 2: Coimbatore — Investigation into Alleged Caste Discrimination at School
A Class XI Dalit student was found dead at his home in Coimbatore. His parents alleged that he had experienced caste-based discrimination at school. Police reported that provisions of the SC/ST Act had been invoked and that the allegations were under investigation.
The allegations must be investigated fairly, and students must be protected from caste discrimination.

ஈரோடு மாவட்டம் பெருந்துறைக்கு அருகிலுள்ள பெரும்பள்ளி கிராமத்தில், மயானப் பயன்பாடு தொடர்பான பிரச்சினையில் இரண்டு தலித் ஆண்கள் மற்றொரு சமூகத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவர்களின் காலில் விழுந்து வணங்குமாறு வற்புறுத்தப்பட்டதாக அக்டோபர் மாதத்தில் செய்திகள் வெளியாகின. இச்சம்பவம் தொடர்பாக SC/ST வன்கொடுமைத் தடுப்புச் சட்டத்தின் கீழ் வழக்குப் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டது. அதிகாரிகளின் மேற்பார்வையில் இறுதிச்சடங்கு நடைபெற்றது.
நமது கோரிக்கை: அனைவருக்கும் சமமான மயான உரிமை வழங்கப்பட வேண்டும். சாதியின் பெயரால் இழிவுபடுத்துவோர் மீது சட்டப்படி நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப்பட வேண்டும்.
செய்தி 2: கோயம்புத்தூர் — பள்ளியில் சாதிப் பாகுபாடு குறித்த விசாரணை
கோயம்புத்தூரில் 11ஆம் வகுப்பு படித்த தலித் மாணவர் ஒருவர் வீட்டில் இறந்த நிலையில் கண்டெடுக்கப்பட்டார். பள்ளியில் சாதிப் பாகுபாடு ஏற்பட்டதாக அவரது பெற்றோர் குற்றம் சாட்டினர். SC/ST வன்கொடுமைத் தடுப்புச் சட்டத்தின் சில பிரிவுகளின் கீழ் வழக்குப் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டு விசாரணை நடைபெறுவதாக காவல்துறை தெரிவித்தது.
நமது கோரிக்கை: கல்வி நிலையங்களில் சாதிப் பாகுபாடு ஒழிக்கப்பட வேண்டும். மாணவர்களின் பாதுகாப்பை அரசு உறுதி செய்ய வேண்டும்.
செய்தி 3: உச்சநீதிமன்றம் — SC/ST வன்கொடுமைத் தடுப்புச் சட்டம்
2026 செப்டம்பரில், SC/ST வன்கொடுமைத் தடுப்புச் சட்டம், 1989-ன் முக்கியப் பிரிவுகளை எதிர்த்த மனுவை உச்சநீதிமன்றம் தள்ளுபடி செய்தது.
அம்பேத்கரியச் செய்தி: சட்டப் பாதுகாப்பு என்பது வெறும் காகிதத்தில் இருக்கக்கூடாது. அது மக்களின் வாழ்க்கையில் சமத்துவத்தையும் பாதுகாப்பையும் உறுதி செய்ய வேண்டும்.

समाचार 1: तमिलनाडु — श्मशान भूमि के उपयोग को लेकर कथित जातिगत भेदभाव
तमिलनाडु के इरोड जिले में पेरुंदुरई के निकट पेरुम्पल्ली गांव में श्मशान भूमि के उपयोग को लेकर विवाद के दौरान दो दलित पुरुषों को कथित तौर पर दूसरे समुदाय के लोगों के सामने दंडवत होने के लिए मजबूर किया गया। अक्टूबर में सामने आए इस मामले में SC/ST अत्याचार निवारण अधिनियम के तहत मामला दर्ज किया गया। अधिकारियों की निगरानी में अंतिम संस्कार संपन्न हुआ।
हमारी मांग: सभी समुदायों को श्मशान भूमि के उपयोग का समान अधिकार मिले। जातिगत अपमान के मामलों में कानून के अनुसार कार्रवाई हो।
समाचार 2: कोयंबटूर — स्कूल में कथित जातिगत भेदभाव की जांच
कोयंबटूर में कक्षा 11 में पढ़ने वाला एक दलित छात्र अपने घर में मृत पाया गया। उसके माता-पिता ने स्कूल में जातिगत भेदभाव होने का आरोप लगाया। पुलिस ने बताया कि SC/ST अधिनियम के प्रावधान लागू किए गए हैं और मामले की जांच चल रही है।
हमारी मांग: स्कूलों में जातिगत भेदभाव समाप्त किया जाए और प्रत्येक विद्यार्थी की सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित की जाए।
समाचार 3: सर्वोच्च न्यायालय — SC/ST अत्याचार निवारण अधिनियम
सितंबर 2026 में सर्वोच्च न्यायालय ने SC/ST अत्याचार निवारण अधिनियम, 1989 के प्रमुख प्रावधानों को चुनौती देने वाली याचिका खारिज कर दी।

ನಮ್ಮ ಬೇಡಿಕೆ: ಎಲ್ಲ ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳಿಗೂ ಸ್ಮಶಾನದ ಬಳಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಾನ ಹಕ್ಕು ದೊರೆಯಬೇಕು. ಜಾತಿಯ ಆಧಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವಮಾನಿಸುವವರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಕಾನೂನು ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು.

ಕೊಯಮತ್ತೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ 11ನೇ ತರಗತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಓದುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ದಲಿತ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಯೊಬ್ಬರು ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮೃತಪಟ್ಟ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪತ್ತೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜಾತಿ ತಾರತಮ್ಯ ಎದುರಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರ ಪೋಷಕರು ಆರೋಪಿಸಿದರು. SC/ST ಕಾಯ್ದೆಯ ಕೆಲವು ನಿಬಂಧನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅನ್ವಯಿಸಿ ತನಿಖೆ ನಡೆಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಪೊಲೀಸರು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ನಮ್ಮ ಬೇಡಿಕೆ: ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಜಾತಿ ತಾರತಮ್ಯವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮೂಲನೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು. ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಯ ಸುರಕ್ಷತೆಯನ್ನು ಖಚಿತಪಡಿಸಬೇಕು.

Dalit Youth Alleges Three Barbers Refused Haircut Over Caste in Uttar Pradesh’s Etah A young man from the Valmiki community in Uttar Pradesh’s Etah district has accused three local barbers of refusing to cut his hair because of his caste and using casteist slurs against him. He has filed a complaint at the Jaithra police station, seeking action against the shopkeepers. BuyMaps The incident allegedly took place on November 1 in Parauli village, under the Jaithra police station area. According to Ajit, son of Sewaram, he went to barber Bablu’s shop at around 10 am to get a haircut. He alleged that Bablu asked him to visit a barber from his own village instead and turned him away. Ajit then approached the shop of Sukhveer, son of Khushiram, who is also from Parauli Suhagpur. Ajit alleged that Sukhveer told him he did not cut the hair of people belonging to the Valmiki community. He subsequently went to Shankar’s shop, where he alleged that he was abused and threatened with being driven away. Ajit said Shankar used casteist remarks and verbally abused him. Speaking about the incident, Ajit questioned why caste should determine access to an everyday service such as getting a haircut. He said people from different communities apply for government jobs and participate in public life, yet members of his community continue to face discrimination when seeking basic services. JoinCommunities Ajit has asked the police to investigate the allegations and take legal action against the three shopkeepers. Jaithra station house officer Sunil Kumar Verma confirmed that the police had received a complaint and were investigating the matter. He said the shopkeepers would be called to the police station for questioning and that action would be taken if the allegations were established.
